now there is a thread titled room meeting within this section that deals with EXP but it's not labeled and the ruling is a script which has a lot of repetitions and some not so relevant information I have broken that down and compiled a list of the ways to gain experience and the rules that govern them:
- For coming in and role playing 1pt per week - For actively role playing with other people 1 pt for each session max 2 per week - For keeping a weekly journal 1 per week - For acting as story teller 2 per week - For participating in a story driven session 1 pt per week - For combat against another PC 1 pt per week - For running an NPC 1 pt per week - Being awarded one by another player for an exceptionally good RP 1 pt per week
**EDIT**- EXP cap 8 points per week - must keep all exp on sheet with character sheets - must notify when you spend experience
Now this is how i understood it from reading the scripts if i am in anyway incorrect, if an administrator would please notify me so i can make the changes that need to be made thank you
****EDIT**** I have disscussed the exp cap with all approite Admin and it has been concluded that the cap is to be raised to 8 just due to the large influx of players into the room as well as the amount of things we can do to gain the exp

As per an admin request i am placing all of the official Experience costs in this location so if you don't know how much it costs to increase a specific stat for your character take a look here and you shall find it
Mortal New Ability = 3 Attribute = current rating x 4 Ability = current rating x 2 Background = current rating x 3 Virtue = current rating x 2 Willpower = current rating Faith Potential = current rating x 10
Vampire New Ability = 3 New Path(Necromancy or Thaumaturgy) = 7 New Discipline = 10 Attribute = current rating x 4 Ability = current rating x 2 Clan Discipline = current rating x 5* Other Discipline = current rating x 7* Secondary Path(Necromancy or Thaumaturgy) = current rating x 4 Virtue = current rating x 2** Humanity = current rating x 2 Willpower = current rating
* Caitiff have no clan-based disciplines, just as they have no clan. For them, the cost of raising disciplines is the current rating x 6 for all disciplines. This is both a curse and a blessing of being clan-less.
** Increasing a Virtue through experience does not increase Traits bases on that virtue(humanity, Willpower)
Werewolf Attribute = current rating x 4 Ability = current rating x 2 New Ability = 3 Gift = Level of Gift x 3 Gift from other breed/auspice/tribe = Level of Gift x 5 Rage = current rating Gnosis = current rating x 2 Willpower = current rating
Mage New Ability = 3 New Sphere = 10 Willpower = new rating Ability = new rating x2 Attribute = new rating x4 Specialty Sphere = new rating x7* Other Sphere = new rating x8* Arete = new rating x8 Background = new rating x3
*The hollow ones have no specialty sphere instead they choose to more evenly distribute their abilities and this in turn causes them to pay the new rating x 8 for all spheres but they can also raise all spheres to a maximum of 6 instead of just the specitiality
Demon New Ability = 3 New Lore = 7(10 if from a house other than the character's) Attribute = Current rating x 4 Ability = current rating x 2 Lore = current rating x 5 Background = current rating x 3 Virtue = current rating x 2* Willpower = current rating Faith = current rating x 7 Torment = 10**
*Increasing a Virtue does not increase Willpower after character creation **This decreases the character's permanent Torment by one point
Hunter New Ability = 3 Attribute = current rating x 4 Ability = current rating x 2 Willpower = current rating
Wraith New Ability = 3 Attribute = current rating x 4 Ability = current rating x 2 Willpower = current rating New Arcanos = 7 New Arcanos Basic Ability = 4 Arcanos = current rating x 3 New Background = 4 Background = current rating x 3 Note: Raising an Arcanos from basic Ability to level 1 costs 3 experience points
Changeling Attribute = Current rating x 4 New Ability = 3 Ability = Current rating x 2 New Art = 7 Art = Current rating x 4 New Realm = 5 Realm = Current rating x 3 Willpower = Current rating x 2 Glamour = Current rating x 2
Ghoul New Ability = 3 New Thaumaturgy Path = 20 (Tremere ghouls only) New Discipline = 20 Willpower = current rating Humanity = current rating x 2 Virtue = current rating x 2 Ability = current rating x 2 Attribute = current rating x 5 Thaumaturgy Path = current rating x 15 (Tremere ghouls only) Clan/Family Discipline* = current rating x 15 Other Discipline = current rating x 25
*As a general rule, a vassal gets a cost break on the actual disciplines of her first domitor's clan (so, while a Toreador may know Dominate, it is not considered a clan Discipline for purposes of experience points). A revenant gets a cost break on the disciplines of her family, while an independent gets a cost break on Potence, Celerity, and Fortitude
Sorcerer New Ability = 3 New Path = 7 Willpower = new rating Ability = new rating x 2 Attribute = new rating x 4 Path = new rating x 7 New ritual = rating of ritual Background = new rating x 3
Mummy New Ability = 3 Attribute = current rating x 4 Ability = current rating x 2 Willpower = current rating New Background = 4 Background = current rating x 3 New Hekau Path = 7 New Spell or Ritual = Level of Spell or Ritual Favored Hekau* = current rating x 4 Other Hekau* = current rating x 6 Balance** = current rating x 7
*Udja-sen have no specific favored Hekau, as their tem-akhs have lost all identity. For them, it costs [current rating x 5] for all Hekau. **Increasing Balance does not automatically increase the mummy's Sekhem at the same time. This character may recouver Sekhem up to the new limit thereafter, however.
Kuei-jin New Ability = 3 Attribute = current rating x 4 Ability = current rating x 2(x 3 for Martial Arts) Willpower = current rating New Discipline = 10 Discipline = current rating x 8 Virtue (Yin, Yang, Hun) = current rating x 3 (x 2 if imbalanced toward the Virtue) Virtue (P'o) = current rating
Dhampyr(KotE style) New Ability = 3 Attribute = current rating x 4 Ability = current rating x 2 Willpower = current rating New Discipline = 20 Discipline = current rating x 15 Passive Joss = 15 Active Joss = 20 Joss Binding = 20 Virtues = current rating x 2 Humanity = current rating x 2 Willpower = current rating x 2
Bygone Beasts Attribute = current rating x 3 New Ability = 4 Knowledges = current rating x 3 Talents & Skills = current rating x 2 willpower = current rating Special Advantages = Advantage Cost
(as you can see i don't currently have them all but i will soon enough) As a side note for all background Traits Most of them need to be earned or story told there are some that can be increased just but and increase in power and i will list them in due time thank you

I know I wrote this on my orignal account but there is one thing I'm noticing that I believe needs a little clarification. With the weekly journals how many entries constitue maintaining the journal for terms of experience?

Depends on the size of the journal entries. They don't have to be huge, but they should give a brief glimpse into the life of your character and his (or her) thoughts.

thank you for that input however unless admin wants to come in and award the experience on properly submited journals then there should be and finite answer to my initial question

Fair enough. How about this: In order to qualify for XP for a journal entry, you need to first qualify for the XP for coming in and RPing. Your journal should reflect a general description of the events RPed to earn said XP and should incled some insight into how the character feels about the scene. My post for Eric's journal tonight is a good example of what I'm talking about. It's a lot larger than I'd think qualifies you for the journal XP, but I've encompassed in it reflections on the downtime and everything since. In Andrew's case, a short paragraph about the incident with Adam at Tim's and maybe a few words about talking to Gab and his reaction would be an appropriate journal entry. In terms of weight, about 4 or 5 lines sound like a goal? If you type it out and it dies at three and a half, no one's gonna break your balls, but journal entries like "Woke up, bored now, making lunch." are gonna result in no biscuit. And for the record, you can get the XP for one entry so long as it meets that criteria. That help?
